Sticks and Stones

Sticks and stones may break my bones but
words " will and most certainly do hurt you".
They cut deep into your soul especially when they are repeated daily weekly monthly year after year. They leave scars that may never heal. They create a cloud of unworthiness around you that no physical medication can heal.
When the source of the words is someone who just passes through your life you can convince yourself it is just a nobody that happens to be a cruel person.
But when the source is someone you are deeply connected with, on one of so many possible levels, the pain becomes unbearable because it breaks down the hope that perhaps it will end.
When the end is nonexistent by the daily repetition of the cruelty of name calling then if I decide that I will still tolerate it for " whatever reason " then I feel I am as responsible for the outcome since I do not stand up for myself.
Bullying has no place in our world.
The idea/notion " we'll he deserved it " is truly pathological and totally unacceptable.

Not sensitive

For those individuals who get a bizarre sense of empowerment by male bashing may I suggest you stop.
I have never known how taking the pendulum all the way to the other extreme makes it right.
I am not saying what has gone on in the past is correct nor the fact that in 80 % of the world women are still treated as second class citizens but does our 21st century intelligent society need this kind of approach to dealing with gender differences?
There is enough pressure in society to perform/behave there is no more room for this type of harassment.

Catharsis

When a moment presents itself in whatever form that allows us to respond in a life changing manner that is for the better of the "self" then we must seize it and run with it for all it's worth.
As Mark Twain said " Life is not a dress rehearsal".

The Senate

What is it with these arrogant self serving individuals who feel the need to not only abuse the privilege granted to them by the Canadian ( insert "Steven Harper" ) people but then brazenly flaunt their misdeeds in our faces?
Call it my naivitie
